Frequently Asked Questions

1. What ages does Nelipots in Nature serve?
We serve children from infancy through kindergarten (ages 0–6). Our offerings are tailored by developmental stage, including babywearing walks, toddler nature play, preschool programs, and a TEKS-inspired kindergarten curriculum.
2. Is your program a licensed school or a co-op?
Nelipots in Nature is a nature-based learning community and educational co-op. We are not a licensed childcare facility, but we follow developmentally appropriate practices and meet educational standards through nature-immersed, experiential learning.
3. What does a typical day look like?
Each day follows a gentle rhythm and includes welcome circle time, music and movement, nature exploration, a story, a craft, a science activity, and educational play. Programs meet outdoors in all safe weather conditions.
4. How often do classes meet?
Our core class program meets in person Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-11:30am each day. Optional at-home learning suggestions are provided for Tuesday and Thursday to support whole-week engagement. We do offer extra curriculars, field trips, and events outside of class hours, locations may vary.
5. Are your classes held entirely outdoors?
Yes. All programming takes place outdoors in local nature spaces or parks. We embrace all-weather learning and use natural materials as much as possible. We provide guidance for appropriate clothing.
6. What if the weather is bad?
We hold classes outdoors in most conditions, but we prioritize safety and comfort. In cases of severe weather (lightning, extreme temperatures, etc.), class may be postponed, rescheduled, or adapted. A 24-hour notice will be given if any changes occur.
7. Do parents stay with their children?
A parent or caregiver must stay and are always encouraged to participate.
8. What should my child bring to class?
A small backpack with water, weather-appropriate clothing (including layers and rain gear), and a change of clothes is recommended. We provide all materials needed for class and have snacks and water available.
9. Do you follow a specific curriculum?
Our curriculum is TEKS-inspired and developmentally aligned. It includes nature-based stories, music, crafts, science exploration, sensory activities, and character-building lessons rooted in simplicity and stewardship.
